Fuel prices increase tonight!

Fuel prices increase tonight as the government adds another 2.12p tax to unleaded and diesel fuel sold after midnight.

As a result of this latest fuel duty rise the government will get an extra £1.4 million tax per day.

Put another way it’s going to cost another £1 to fill up your petrol tank.

The government points out that this fuel increase was announced two years ago. Does that really help though as we battle our way through this recession? I don’t think so.

It seems it’s yet another ’stealth tax’ from a Treasury that’s looking to grab any money it can - and the poor old motorists are getting caught again.

Surely there won’t be any more fuel increases announced in the Budget on April 22?
